Every animal deserves a proper address, one that signifies a home, not a landfill. Unfortunately, in Greece, the harsh reality is far from this, with an estimated 760,500 dogs and 2.07 million cats living on the streets. A Little Shelter, an Athenian animal shelter, emphasises that adoption is the only solution. The “Real Street Dogs” campaign seeks to raise awareness about the stray animal crisis through real images captured via Google Street View, on real streets. By featuring these authentic snapshots, the campaign highlights the harsh reality faced by stray dogs, making them the central focus of the print campaign.
The "Real Street Dogs" achieved significant impact, generating over 1 million impressions across social media platforms. By using real images from Google Street View, the campaign successfully captured public attention and sparked conversations about the stray animal crisis in Greece, with celebrities and other shelters generously reposting it to raise awareness. But there was also another key result: 110% increase in adoption rates through our shelter during the campaign’s launch. This highlights the effectiveness of the campaign and the much-needed awareness it raised, reinforcing the message that adoption is the only humane solution for all strays in Greece.
